(VOVworld) – A meeting to review 2 years of implementation of national targeted program to build new rural areas has opened in Ha Mon commune, Dak Ha district, Kon Tum province. During the meeting today/ on Monday, the province’s steering committee officially acknowledged Ha Mon commune meeting the standard of a new rural area in 2012 according to the national criteria on building new rural areas. Ha Mon became the first new rural commune in the Central Highlands region. The commune is one of 22 communes Kon Tum chose as a pilot to implement the program in the 2010-2015 period. The commune now has no more poverty-stricken households. In 2012, the commune’s average per capita income stood at 38 million VND per year, increasing 2.3 times against 2008.
