FM Pham Binh Minh visits China

Visiting Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh held talks with Member of the Politburo Standing Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legislative Affairs Committee of the Communist Party of China, Zhou Yongkang in Beijing on Monday. The Chinese official stressed the Chinese Party, government and people treasured relations with Vietnam, saying that bilateral ties are developing robustly in line with two peoples’ interests, for peace, stability and development in the region and the world. He suggested both countries increase high-level exchanges, strengthen political trust and practically and effectively deepen cooperation in all fields as well as satisfactorily resolve all pending issues to further Sino-Vietnamese relations. Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh reiterated the Vietnamese Party and State’s consistent policy of developing relations with China to further develop the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership. Chairman of the Chinese People’s National Congress Dai Binguo, in a meeting with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, stressed that both countries need to bring into play the cooperation mechanism of the Steering Committee for bilateral cooperation and enhance cooperation between different levels, localities and agencies of the two countries. The same day, Foreign Minister Minh met with Wang Jiarui, Head of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee to discuss measures to boost cooperation between the two parties.
