Foreign Ministry’s regular press briefing
(VOVworld)- Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Le Hai Binh has responded to reporters’ questions on issues of interest. Responding to their question regarding the Chinese media news about three nuclear power plants being constructed close to the border with Vietnam, the spokesman said countries building and operating the plants must comply with the International Atomic Energy Agency in not affecting the environment of its neighbors. Vietnam has asked China for early cooperation in regular information sharing mechanisms regarding the nuclear projects.

Regarding Russian media reports on Russia’s possible return to Cam Ranh, Mr Binh said Vietnam pursues an independent foreign policy of peace, cooperation and development while not forming military alliance against third countries and not allowing any countries to place military bases in Vietnam.
The spokesman also expressed Vietnam’s desire for a peaceful resolution to the border conflict between India and Pakistan.
