Foreigners optimistic about Vietnam's economic recovery

(VOVWORLD) - Foreign companies are optimistic about Vietnam's economic prospects, even though a new outbreak of the novel coronavirus has led once again to social distancing measures in Da Nang and other cities.

The epidemic’s resurgence could eclipse promising forecasts for Vietnam's short-term economic growth, said Kenneth Atkinson, founder of the international audit firm Grant Thornton and vice chairman of the Tourism Advisory Board.

However, he said he is not too worried, because he believes Vietnam will remain an attractive destination for international businesses. The way Vietnam coped with the first wave of COVID-19 has bolstered trust and that will help Vietnam’s economic recovery, he said.
