Former Catalan officials appeal to UN
(VOVWORLD) - Three Catalan independence leaders being held in Madrid have appealed to the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention.

A lawyer for the leaders told reporters on Thursday that the arrest of his clients has violated international law and prevented them from being political representatives of Catalonia.
Former Catalan Vice President Oriol Junqueras and two other separatist leaders were accused of illegally declaring Catalonia’s independence and detained last November.
