Four more COVID-19 cases linked to Da Nang outbreak

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam on Wednesday morning recorded four more COVID-19 cases including three patients from Quang Nam and one from Hanoi, all linked to Da Nang outbreak, said the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

"Patient 714" is a 42-year-old man in Bac Tu Liem District of Hanoi who works as a public bus operator.

He traveled to Da Nang with his family from July 14 to 17. Two days later, he started running a slight fever and had a sore throat. On Tuesday, he had his samples taken for COVID-19 testing at Hanoi’s National Hospital for Tropical Diseases and the result turned out positive.

By Wednesday morning, Vietnam has recorded 717 COVID-19 cases, including 381 cases who have recovered.

Coronavirus cases worldwide reached nearly 19 million with more than 710,000 deaths, according to worldometers.info. 213 countries and territories are being affected. The US remains the hardest-hit country with nearly 5 million COVID-19 cases and more than 161,000 deaths, followed by Brazil and India.
