France confirms 2nd case of SARS- related virus

The French Ministry of Health on Sunday confirmed a second case of a deadly new respiratory virus related to SARS, which is called “corona” (CoV). The hospital roommate aged 50 of a 65-year-old man with the virus has also tested positive. The first man was confirmed to have the virus while he was in the United Arab Emirates. At the moment, health officials are conducting an epidemiological investigation to identify people whom the second patient had contacted. Benoit Guery, Dean of Vascular and Inflammatory Diseases of Lille hospital, said airborne infection by the CoV virus absolutely had occurred. CoV has the same structure as the SARS virus which caused the SARS pandemic in Asia from 2002 to 2003.
