According to his office, during their 90-minute talks, President Macron said that in the current situation, the path of de-escalation was narrow, but more necessary than ever, and that the time had come for Iran to take action. The office added that it was urgent to start a discussion on a security agenda for the region.

President Rouhani plans to present the Hormuz Peace Initiative (HOPE) at the upcoming meeting of the UN General Assembly. He said Iran is willing to discuss the matter with other countries with the UN involved in the process.
