Fund raising campaign for disadvantaged children launched

(VOVWORLD) - A campaign to raise funds for disadvantaged children was jointly launched on Monday by the Vietnam Red Cross Society along with child support associations.

The fundraiser aims to provide food, means of communications, and potable water to underprivileged children, children with disabilities, orphans, children affected by COVID-19, and children living in extremely difficult areas.

“We hope that the campaign will be a success. The donations will be delivered directly to the beneficiaries,” said Bui Thi Hoa, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Red Cross Society. 

People can join the program by texting with the syntax TE to 1406 (20,000 VND, equivalent to 0.85 USD, a message) or donating via the "Thien nguyen" (Charity) 2022 application.
The campaign will run until July 10 this year.
Vietnam currently has about 4 million children who lack access to at least two groups of basic social services, including education, health, nutrition, housing, clean water and sanitation, information, social integration and a safe living environment.
