The event raised funds for 65 year-old Nguyen Thi Phat, who suffers from cancer and  has undergone one surgery and radiation therapy. She has 5 children; the first child has brain injury. Her youngest daughter Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, who is a worker in Dong Nai province, said during her 8 years working there, she only managed to visit her mom once because of her difficult condition. A charity club in Da Nang has funded her flight home and now she is reuniting with her mom. Ha said: “I am very happy to meet my mom. Thank you everybody for giving us a meaningful gift on International Women’s Day March 8. I will try to live well to help myself and others.”
