Participants addressed concerns that declining spending on development projects could lead to a shortage of supply capacity and increase fuel prices. On the first day of the meeting, high on the agenda was the building power plants and related facilities in developing countries. The ministers are expected to discuss ways to ensure supply of natural gas as demands in Asia are rising. The session is one of a series of G-7 ministerial meetings being held in the run-up to the Ise-Shima summit to be held in Mie Prefecture of Japan at the end of the month. G7 includes Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States.
