Talking to the local people at the 2025 Great National Unity Festival in Hanoi’s Thuong Cat ward, General Secretary Lam said the strength of great unity starts from very familiar and simple things such as trust and humanity. When putting national interests first, all differences will find a common denominator; all difficulties will have an opening and be resolved.

The Party leader believed that the aspiration for “a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization” requires new internal strength, a new growth model, and new development drivers. They are green transformation, digital transformation, science and technology, innovation and circular economy. But the foundation for going far and achieving success remains unity, he said.

General Secretary Lam pointed out that great unity starts from unity within the Party and the political system, between social classes and international solidarity.

He underscored seven groups of tasks, including people being the root; discipline-integrity; streamlined apparatus; unleashing development resources; social security-culture-people; national defense and security linked with foreign affairs and international integration; the front-unions-social organizations-overseas Vietnamese communities and international friends to be connected more closely and widely through people-to-people diplomacy, through sports, culture, tourism, education and training.

“The Fatherland Front’s core role must be promoted in rallying, uniting, overseeing, and social criticism. Stay connected with the international community to radiate the strength and noble human values of our nation, especially the values and traditions of great unity,” General Secretary Lam said.
