(VOVworld) – A number of German newspapers have run stories in praise of Vietnam’s economic achievements, potential, and its active role in ASEAN.

The ‘Dusseldorfer Abendblatt’ newspaper and the portal ‘pressportal.de’ reported that since Vietnam began its renewal process, its economy has experienced rapid growth periods at the rate of up to 8% per year. Vietnam and other ASEAN countries have agreed on boosting regional economic integration towards establishing an ASEAN community by 2015. Vietnam has negotiated with the US and several others on a Trans Pacific Partnership agreement. The negotiating process is likely to conclude soon.
The ‘der Focus’ paper also had an analysis of Vietnam’s positive prospects with 2014 GDP forecast being 5.8%. Over the past years, the amount of foreign direct investment and the official development assistance capital to Vietnam has steadily increased.
