Government, NA leaders visit northern mountainous provinces ahead of Tet

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and presented gifts to local armed forces, policy beneficiary families, and the needy on Monday in the northern border province of Cao Bang ahead of the Lunar New Year (Tet), the most important and longest festival of Vietnamese people.

In Quang Hoa district, PM Chinh presented 200 sets of Tet gifts and asked local authorities and residents to build a shared border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.

“Authorities should take better care of locals, especially disadvantaged people and policy beneficiaries to ensure a warm Tet for all, leaving no-one behind.”
PM Chinh also visited the border guard post of Ta Lung border gate and inspected the Dong Dang-Tra Linh expressway connecting Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces.

The same day, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue presented Tet gifts to people in especially difficult circumstances and bicycles and clothes to poor students in Trinh Tuong commune in Lao Cai province.

He also witnessed the hand-over of 12,000 USD from the Vietnam Red Cross society to help improve nutrition at Trinh Tuong primary school for local ethnic minority students.
