The meeting for October reviewed the socio-economic situation over the past 10 months and recovery measures in the central region. Mr. Phuc said October’s widespread flooding in central Vietnam killed 230 people and caused great loss of property. The Prime Minister praised efforts to evacuate 1.3 million people to escape typhoons.

The government has allocated 4.4 million USD to each of Vietnam’s 5 central provinces for flood recovery.
