The event was held following the Government’s regular meeting and presided over by Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung. In his address Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said the decision to increase electricity price had been approved by the Prime Minister and relevant ministries and agencies. The Ministry will work closely with the Electricity of Vietnam to answer customers’ questions about this regard. Deputy Inspector General Bui Ngoc Lam said: “The Government Inspectorate will work closely with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance to make objective and accurate conclusion on the electricity price hike.”

At the press conference, Cabinet members talked about ways to deal with pollution in To Lich river, the progress of SOEs equitisation, and housing prices.
