Government to urgently push key projects in Ho Chi Minh City

(VOVWORLD) -The Government will immediately issue major resolutions to push key projects such as Ho Chi Minh City 3rd Ring Road, Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat International Airport and connecting transport routes, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Prime Minister Chinh on Wednesday worked with leaders of Ho Chi Minh City on socio-economic performance of July and the first 7 months of the year. He applauded the city’s achievements: GRDP in the first half estimated to increase by more than 3.8%, total export turnover of goods at 25 billion USD, and foreign investment reaching over 2 billion USD.

The Prime Minister suggested that Ho Chi Minh City continue to effectively implement the prevention and control of COVID-19, dengue fever, and monkeypox, and speed up the vaccination.

The city continues to review and perfect institutions, mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties and obstacles for production and business,  improve the quality of urban government construction, and the investment and business environment, he said.

According to the PM, Ho Chi Minh City should accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital, increase the mobilization of social resources for infrastructure development, boost digital transformation, build digital government, digital economy, digital society, and smart city.

He asked for efforts to improve people's quality of life, take care of people with meritorious services, ensure social security, and maintain political stability.

On Wednesday morning, Prime Minister Chinh visited two key transport infrastructure projects in Ho Chi Minh City: Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Metro project and An Phu intersection construction project in Thu Duc city.
