(VOVworld) – The Greek government said Tuesday that it wants to sign a final deal on its international bailout by August 20.

The statement was released with lawmakers due to vote Thursday on a second batch of reforms pursuant to tough requirements by Greece’s partners in the Eurozone.

Government spokesman Olga Gerovassili said that after Parliament has voted on a second batch of required reforms, the government "will immediately resume negotiations with the lender institutions, the EU, the European Central Bank, and the IMF, which should take until August 20 at the latest.

August 20 is the deadline for debt-crippled Greece to pay 3.2 billion euros owed to the ECB, ahead of a payment of 1.5 billion euros owed to the IMF in September.
