Ha Nam prepares for UN Vesak Day 2019
(VOVWORLD) - The Ha Nam provincial People’s Committee held a conference on Tuesday to plan support for the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in organizing the UN Day of Vesak 2019 in May at the Tam Chuc Buddhist Culture Centre.

The plan calls for sectors and agencies to assist the sub-committees of the organizing board of the UN Day of Vesak in preparing security, transportation safety, medical services, power, sanitation, and food safety. Ha Nam will also organize a prayer for peace ceremony.
Themed ‘Buddhist Approach to Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Sustainable Societies’, this year’s Vesak Day expects more than 10,000 participants, including dignitaries, monks, leaders of Buddhist organizations, scientists, researchers, and Buddhist followers from over 100 countries and territories.
