Hanoi achieves all 2018 socio-economic targets

(VOVWORLD) - Hanoi has surpassed all 20 of the socio-economic development targets set for this year and the 2016-2018 period, said Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai at a meeting on Wednesday.

Hanoi has seen robust economic growth and has led Vietnam in foreign direct investment attraction this year. Farmers’ average per capita income improved this year to approximately 2,000 USD. The poverty rate in rural areas fell from 2.57 percent to 1.6 percent in 2018.    

Hanoi will strive to raise next year’s regional gross domestic product by at least 7.5 percent. Social investment is expected to grow 11 percent and export value 8 percent.
