Hanoi Run for Children 2019 to be held in December
(VOVWORLD) - The Hanoi Run for Children 2019 will take place on December 8 at Unification Park to raise funds for poor children suffering from cancer and heart disease.
The annual run is organized by the Canadian Embassy, together with the Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association, and the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations.
"Health is a human right, according to the Universal Declaration on Human Rights. Canada believes as a global community we must always be committed to supportng the health and well-being of every individual around the world," said Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Deborah Paul at a press conference on Monday.
"The Hanoi Run for Children represents how we both as the international and local communities can come together to work toward our common goal," she added.
The Run for Children, formerly known as the Terry Fox Run, was launched in 2009 and raises 50,000 USD each year.
