At the 15th meeting of the Hanoi People’s Council on Tuesday, the NA leader said the success of the investment promotion conference in the city in June affirmed its leading role in economic recovery and development now that the COVID-19 pandemic has been controlled.

The NA recently approved a resolution, allowing Hanoi to pilot some policies and mechanisms in State budget collection and spending, outstanding loans, and finance reserve fund use.

“It’s essential to improve the People’s Council’s supervision of the performance of state agencies and administrations. Attention should be paid to learning voters’ aspirations and addressing pressing issues of public concern,” said Ms. Ngan.

Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue said the city anticipates growth of between 5.4 and 5.9 percent this year.
