(VOVWORLD) -Hanoi authority plans to spend more than 16 million USD to give gifts to 850,000 national contributors and disadvantaged people on the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2021.

Those will receive gifts are people with meritorious services, poor households, the elderly, workers in extremely difficult circumstances, people receiving monthly pension and allowances for loss of working capacity, and outstanding organizations and individuals.
The gift giving to policy beneficiaries will be completed before February1. Each gift for individual is worth from 13 USD to 65 USD.
Deputy Head of the Hanoi Party Commission for Communications and Education Pham Thanh Hoc said that in addition to giving gifts, the city will organize bus trips to transport workers back home for Tet.
