HCM city cooperates with Nasdaq to develop International Financial Center

(VOVWORLD) - Ho Chi Minh City and Nasdaq are set to sign a memorandum of understanding this month to establish the Vietnam International Financial Center.

During a meeting on Thursday with Robert H. McCooey, Vice Chairman and Global Head of Capital Markets at Nasdaq, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Duoc said the city hopes to cooperate with Nasdaq in financial technology, international connectivity, and building credibility and trust with the global investment community.

Mr. McCooey said HCM city is a young, dynamic metropolis and Vietnam’s largest economic hub, with great potential to become a leading financial and technological center in the region, and Nasdaq is committed to helping the city with workforce training, financial technology transfer, and attracting international investment.
