HCM city exhibition spotlights Vietnam’s seas, islands

(VOVWORLD) - Many precious items featuring Vietnam’s sea and islands are on display at an exhibition held in commemoration of naval soldiers who sacrificed their lives while protecting Gac Ma Reef in Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago in 1988.

The exhibition opened at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities on Monday.

The items on display include ancient maps showing China without Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes; French maps including Hoang Sa and Truong Sa; videos and other documents affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago.

The exhibition, which runs until this Sunday, also features Vietnam’s naval ships throughout different points in history.
