HCM city hosts Mid-Autumn Festival for disadvantaged children

(VOVWORLD) - More than 400 disadvantaged children enjoyed a special Mid-Autumn Festival event on Sunday in Ho Chi Minh City.

20 bicycles and 80 scholarships worth 50 to 150 USD each were presented to individuals with excellent academic results. The children were treated to music performances and games with fun prizes. Tran Thi Ngoc Nu, Chairwoman of the HCM City Association for the Protection of Children's Rights, said that in addition to the Mid-Autumn Festival, the association also has regular activities to help the children.

“We have visited the children to teach them about their rights, their duties, how to stop abuse, and to introduce two hotline numbers. Their rights include the right to survival, the right to protection, the right to development, and the right to participation,” said Nu.
