HCMC asked to minimize number of COVID-19 deaths

(VOVWORLD) - Ho Chi Minh City’s health sector needs earlier medical interventions in treating severe COVID-19 cases to minimize the number of deaths, said Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son.

Mr. Son, who is head of the Ministry’s special standing division in Ho Chi Minh City, was speaking at a discharge ceremony on Monday for 17 COVID-19 patients at the Ho Chi Minh City COVID-19 Resuscitation Hospital.

Before his discharge, Piers Edmund Astley Birtwistle, a 63 year-old British patient, thanked the doctors and nurses who treated him and helped him recover from COVID-19.

Mr. Birtwistle said he deeply appreciated the kindness, friendliness, and professionalism of the hospital’s medical staff, as well as the hospital’s modern equipment and delicious meals.
