Health Ministry pilots antiviral drug Molnupiravir for COVID-19 home treatment
(VOVWORLD) -Antiviral drug Molnupiravir for controlled treatment of COVID-19 patients at home has been piloted in 12 cities and provinces, including Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Dak Nong, Dong Nai, Long An, and Ba Ria Vung Tau.

The Ministry of Health said that from Thursday one million Molnupiravir pills funded by DB Company, the founding shareholder of Ecopark Group, have been handed over to 10 provinces as part of the pilot program.
Molnupiravir (also known as MK-4482), manufactured by Merck, has been shown in a pivotal clinical trial to halve the risk of hospitalization or death when used in at-risk individuals. Molnupiravir is also effective against all strains of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, according to the drug developer.
