(VOVworld) – Ho Chi Minh City held a meeting on Monday to mark the 125^th birthday anniversary of late president Ton Duc Thang. Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, said the life and work career of the late leader set a bright example of revolutionary morality and fighting spirit for freedom. He called on the working class to be united and creative to deserve their role in the new period and their master Ton Duc Thang: “To mark the birthday anniversary of President Ton Duc Thang, each of us should study his revolutionary ethics, simple lifestyle, public-spiritedness and selflessness. Following his example, we should be dedicated to work entrusted by the Party and the people and do our best for the renewal process, deserving to be a heroic city”.

For this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City opens an exhibition about the life and career of President Ton Duc Thang as well as another exhibition about the friendship between Uncle Ho and Uncle Ton and their shining example.

Meanwhile, An Giang province has awarded prizes to the winners of a contest about President Ton in connection with Vietnam’s revolution and his home province An Giang.
