Ho Chi Minh City leaders visit Japan

(VOVworld) – Vietnam will use Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) effectively for socio-economic development, said Le Thanh Hai, Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee at a Tuesday meeting with Japanese House of Councillors President Masaaki Yamazaki in Tokyo.

Hai is in Japan to hold talks with senior Japanese officials on strengthening the bi-lateral strategic partnership. At the meeting with Yamazaki, Hai said he hopes Japan will continue to provide Vietnam with ODA and support Vietnam in international issues, including resolving maritime disputes. Yamazaki expressed his hope that Vietnam will create favourable conditions for Japanese businesses in Vietnam, adding that the Japanese House of Councillors will do its best to strengthen bi-lateral ties. Hai also met with Koya Nishikawa, the Japanese Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. He will meet with leaders of the Police Department, Cabinet Office, and Fire Department on Wednesday.
