Ho Chi Minh city makes people’s welfare its goal

(VOVWORLD) - Ho Chi Minh city always considers the welfare of its people its top priority, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Phan Van Mai said at a press briefing on Monday, adding that the city is completing a list of local residents with financial woes to determine how to distribute a 3rd aid package worth more than 441 million USD.

"We know that many residents are in need of support and we’re trying to include those people in the list for receiving this aid package," said Mr. Mai.

"Though the aid is not much, it’s a heartfelt effort by the city’s authorities and citizens. We hope everyone will unite and strictly follow all safety rules during this pandemic", he added.

The city plans to use “COVID-19 green cards” based on vaccination status as an effort to contain the pandemic during its process to restore the economy.
