(VOV) – A conference on improving the capacity of vocational training centers for women was co-organized by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs and the Republic of Korea Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. Joo Young Mee, the Director of the Center for the Advancement of Women in south Seoul, said his country will continue to fund Can Tho city so it can hold vocational training courses including the Korean language and knowledge on small businesses for local women. Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, Nguyen Thanh Hoa, said it’s not easy for Vietnamese women to access vocational training and find a job: “Vietnam has carried out a number of measures including overhauling the legal system and policies on gender equality as well as setting up a state agency on gender equality. The technical and financial support from other countries and international organizations is essential so Vietnam can narrow the current gender gap.”
