In a post on the social media platform X, Modi said authorities are assisting those affected and wish the injured a speedy recovery.

Several states — including Bihar, Chandigarh, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and the capital New Delhi — have been placed on high alert following the explosion. The Northern Railway tightened security at five stations in the Delhi division, and the Border Security Force stepped up surveillance along India’s borders with Pakistan, Nepal, and other sensitive areas.

“We are exploring all possibilities and will conduct a thorough investigation,” Home Minister Amit Shah said.

Authorities are examining potential links to the Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The blast came just days after a video surfaced showing LeT leader Saifullah Saif claiming that his superior, Hafiz Saeed, was planning an attack on India through his network in Bangladesh. The incident follows India’s recent dismantling of a major terror network, during which officials seized nearly three tons of explosives.
