Indian PM’s first phone talk with Joe Biden on bilateral ties

(VOVWORLD) - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held his first phone conversation with Joe Biden, who the US media projected winning the US presidential election 2020,  India’s External Affairs Ministry said on Wednesday. Both agreed to work closely to further advance the India-US strategic partnership.

According to India’s External Affairs Ministry, Modi congratulated Biden during their conversation on Tuesday and they discussed their priorities, including containing the coronavirus pandemic, promoting access to affordable vaccines, tackling climate change and cooperating in the Indo-Pacific Region.

Modi tweeted his congratulations to Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris on November 8.
