Indian warship visits Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) - The Indian Navy’s anti-submarine corvette INS Kiltan arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday for a three-day visit to strengthen bilateral maritime cooperation.

It will deliver humanitarian assistance, including relief goods for people affected by storms and floods in central Vietnam between September and November, according to the Indian embassy in Hanoi.

The visit, part of the Indian Navy's deployment to Southeast Asia, seeks to strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ navies, deepen the friendship between Vietnam and India.

The two countries signed seven agreements to boost cooperation in defense and renewable energy during a virtual summit attended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Monday.
