The statement came a week after more than 60 Chinese fishing and coast guard vessels entered Natuna waters near the Riau Islands without authorization between December 19 and December 24.

Earlier, Indonesia accused China of territorial violation into its exclusive economic zone (EEZ), saying it will never recognize China’s nine-dash line because it violates the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). Indonesia said its EEZ is recognized by UNCLOS and asked China to comply with the document.
