The General Statistics Office reported that international arrivals to Vietnam reached nearly 173,000 in May, 71 percent more than in April. Although still less than before the pandemic, it’s a strong sign showing that Vietnam’s tourism industry is rebounding.

According to the GSO, the highest increase was tourists from America – nearly 50,000 arrivals, up 23 folds –followed by Europe and Asia.

According to the World Economic Forum, Vietnam’s tourism industry ranked 52nd in 2021 in development capacity, up from 60th in 2019.
