(VOVworld) - Around 148 companies from 29 countries and territories are attending the International Mining and Minerals Recovery Exhibition and Conference (Mining Vietnam 2012). The participants introduced their advanced technologies, equipment and services to deal with the challenges facing minerals and natural resources recovery in Vietnam, as well as improving mining productivity. Nguyen Khac Vinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Geological Sciences said: " This is the first time Vietnam has introduced the world’s most advanced technologies and equipment for mineral exploitation. The equipment Vietnam has imported over the past years often became out of date after a while and led to many failures and mistakes. The exhibition is a good chance for scientists to exchange experience to improve domestic equipment".

The exhibition, which opened in Hanoi on Wednesday is considered an important commercial event, helping to promote the mining sector and turn it into one of Vietnam's spearhead industries.
