(VOVworld)-Many activities marking International Women’s Day March 8^th are being held across the country to praise women’s contribution to national construction and defense. The Kovalevskaia Award Committee has honored outstanding female students at 10 universities nationwide. The Can Tho city Women’s Union praised role model families in the campaign against poverty, social evils, domestic violence, child malnutrition and school dropout rates."Our members have actively responded to the campaign over the past few years. We want to encourage local women to contribute to local development", said Ms Phan Thi Hong Nhung,Chairwoman of the Union.
