(VOVWORLD) - The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) symposium for Asia-Pacific on Climate Change Response has achieved important outcomes, including calling on legislatures to take stronger actions to realize the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Nguyen Van Giau, head of the Vietnam National Assembly’s Committee for External Relations, made the remark at a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday.
He said that the event was a success, as it fostered the law-making body’s role in pushing actions to respond to climate change to realize SDGs.
The IPU symposium gathered 200 delegates from parliaments in 22 Asian-Pacific countries, and representatives from international organizations.
