Iran announces defence system against chemical, biological threats

(VOVWORLD) - The Iranian authorities have installed in 51 cities defense systems intended to intercept possible biological, radiological and chemical attacks, announced the Ministry of Defense.
On state television Iribnews last Saturday, Deputy Minister of Defense General Mehdi Farahi said the defense system will allow Iranian forces to “coordinate the equipment necessary to respond to these threats” and protect the population.

The announcement comes with Iran engaged in negotiations to revive its 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, which gave Iran much-needed sanctions relief in return for curbs on its nuclear program.
