Iran reopens border with Iraq’s Kurdistan

(VOVWORLD) - Iran opened a border crossing with the Kurdistan region of Iraq on Wednesday after having closed it following last month’s vote in favor of independence in the Kurdish area.

Head of customs for the border crossing, Jahangir Bakhshi said activities at the Bashmagh border crossing, approximately 50 kilometers east of Kurdista, resumed on Wednesday. There are no reports that other border gates will also be reopened.
