Israel wants to boost ties with Vietnam

(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s ambassador to Israel Cao Tran Quoc Hai presented his credentials to President Reuven Rivlin on Monday.

The Israeli President expressed his hope for increased cooperation between the two countries and praised Vietnam’s potential and human resources. Ambassador Hai said with both countries’ potential and strengths in science, technology, and agriculture, two-way trade will soon surpass 2 billion USD. Vietnam and Israel plan to begin negotiations on a free trade agreement next month, which are expected to end after 2 years. Ambassador Hai said the FTA will create favorable conditions for both countries’ businesses and asked Israel to recognize Vietnam’s market economy status.
