Italy to host 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics
(VOVWORLD) - The 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics will be held in Italy. The International Olympic Committee voted Monday to accept the joint bid by Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo over the runner-up, Stockholm, Sweden.

Italy hosted the Winter Olympics in 1956, Summer Olympics in 1960, and Winter Olympics in 2006. Milan-Cortina won 47 of the Committee votes cast.
Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte on Monday hailed the vote as a victory for all of Italy. He wrote on Twitter that an entire country that worked together united and compact with the ambition of achieving and offering the world a memorable sporting event. The event will run from February 6-22, 2026.
