The rockets, a new type of short-range ballistic missile, reached an altitude of about 100 kilometers. He said North Korea might be developing missiles which follow an irregular and lower-than-usual flight path to make it harder for Japan or others to intercept them. There is a good chance North Korea will apply short-range missile technologies to longer-range missiles with the aim of making all missiles harder to detect, he said.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff says North Korea fired two unidentified projectiles believed to be short-range ballistic missiles into the Japanese Sea Saturday morning from the eastern town of Sondok. This was North Korea’s seventh missile launch since July 25.
Britain, France, and Germany on Tuesday condemned North Korea's recent missile launches, the second time they have done so in less than a month. The three countries issued a statement after a closed-door session of the UN Security Council in New York urging North Korea to engage in meaningful negotiations with the US as agreed during a June 30 meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. They said international sanctions must remain in place and be strictly enforced until North Korea's nuclear and ballistic missile programs are dismantled.
