Japanese Foreign Minister begins Middle East visit

(VOVWORLD) - Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi began a 10-day visit to the Middle East on Sunday.

The trip will focus on the region’s security. Mr. Motegi is scheduled to meet with officials in Iran and Israel to assure them of Japan’s support for their new governments.

He will also visit Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Turkey, and Qatar. His plan to visit Iraq was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
