Japan’s Oita prefecture wants to boost cooperation with Vietnam

(VOVworld) - Governor of Japan’s Oita prefecture Hirose Katsusada met with Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong during his visit to Oita from July 2nd to 4th.

Mr. Katsusada highlighted the huge potential for enhanced links and said local authorities will encourage Japanese enterprises and students to invest and study in Vietnam. He said Oita prefecture wants to attract more Vietnamese tourists and workers and is committed to promoting connections between local firms and foreign students, particularly students from Vietnam.

Ambassador Cuong said the embassy supports cooperation with Oita prefecture in business, tourism, education, training, and labor.

During his visit, Cuong met with former Japanese Prime Minister Murayama Tomiichi and praised the great contributions made by Mr. Tomiichi to Vietnam-Japan relations.
