Joyous local Mid-Autumn celebrations

(VOVworld) – The Mid-Autumn festival was jubilantly celebrated at various places around Hanoi. Cultural activities at historic sites in Hanoi’s Old quarter attracted crowds of visitors, particularly children. Artisans from handicraft villages taught children to make traditional toys such as star-shaped lanterns, kites, and masks.

In Danang, the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs organized a “Full-moon festival” for more than 1,000 children and donated gifts to 600 disadvantaged children. Doan Kim Hoan lives in Danang city. “My family received a present for the Full-moon festival. Although it’s not big, it has encouraged me in my study. We watched children singing and performing a lion dance.”

The Hau Giang provincial authority organized a number of activities for children at the weekend, particularly for children in mountain and other remote communes. 200 gifts were given to children in disadvantaged families.
