Korean passengers are welcomed at Da Nang International Airport

The passengers on board flight KE9463, which departed from the Incheon International Airport, were welcomed by local authorities immediately after their arrival at Da Nang International Airport.

Yongshin, a tourist on the flight, said that he was both delighted and surprised at being welcomed by friendly Vietnamese people. The Korean man said that his arrival marked the first time he had visited Da Nang, and that he would stay for several days in order to visit the many local attractions around the central city.

Nguyen Xuan Binh, deputy director of the municipal Department of Tourism, said that the RoK had been Da Nang’s leading tourist market before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the restoration of this market is therefore of highly significance to the central city.

Currently, Korean Air is operating two charter flights a week to Da Nang on Wednesday and Saturday. The RoK carrier plans to launch regular flights to the Vietnamese city as of July 27 with a frequency of one flight per day.
