Kremlin: No agreement on OSCE police mission to Eastern Ukraine

(VOVworld) - On Thursday, the Kremlin denied reports that Russia has agreed to deploy a police mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to Eastern Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said repot that recordings of 'Normandy Four' conversations show Russia agreeing to the deployment of an OSCE police mission are not true.  According to the RIA Novosti, Peskov insists there were no agreements on the issue since Donbass representatives’ view-points must be considered before making any decision.

The Normandy Four leaders of France, Germany, Russia, and Ukraine phone conferenced on Tuesday (May, 24th). According to an official Kremlin announcement, the four leaders did not mentione the deployment of an OSCE police mission in Donbass, and such issues should be discussed in an appropriate format. The Kremlin emphasized the importance of a prompt ceasefire and a resumption of direct negotiations.
